Kindergarten Readiness

Kindergarten readiness describes the skills a child should know when they enter kindergarten. This includes everything from holding a pencil and catching a ball to counting and social-emotional regulation.

Kindergarten Tutoring

It’s your child’s first year of school! This is a really exciting time that can also be kind of scary, especially for kinder kiddos. Whatever you need, I’m here to support you and your young learner throughout their kinder year.

1st & 2nd Grade Tutoring

Your child is officially a big kid and there’s a lot that goes into hanging with the big leagues. Between new subjects and higher standards, it can be hard to keep up. If your child could use a little extra support, I’m here to help!

Let’s face it,
being a kid is hard.

Your child has a lot of expectations to meet during their first few years of school, and it can be overwhelming for young learners who are experiencing everything for the first time. According to the National Center for Student Statistics, the average class has 24 students and 44% of students are behind in at least one subject. As an elementary teacher, I know how hard it is for students (and parents) when kids fall behind and how effective one-on-one instruction can be to catch them up—especially when learning is fun!

I focus on individualized, play-based learning because kids need to be kids. Being silly and messy is an essential part of learning and kids thrive when they’re having fun!

Watching kids grow,
helping students thrive.

Sometimes all it takes is a little extra practice for kids to understand a challenging concept, and tutoring is the perfect place to give them that extra support in a way that’s fun, focused, and designed just for them. There’s no one-size-fits-all when it comes to learning, which is why it’s so important to teach kids in a way they understand. When your child works with me, I’ll personalize lessons based on their unique learning style, so they can master learning material while developing skills like problem-solving, communication, and creative thinking. Whether your kiddo is working hard at catching up or doing their best to stay ahead, I’ll help them build confidence in their academic abilities and excel as young learners.

Play-Based Learning

Play-based learning fosters a child's natural curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving abilities while making learning a positive and enjoyable experience. We’ll use our imaginations with art and storytelling and have fun with tools like Play-Doh, stickers, and blocks.

Hands-on Materials

Sensory experiences enhance a child’s learning environment and keep them engaged. I enjoy using tools like letter tiles and counters because it provides students with multiple ways to learn content and leads to a greater understanding of challenging concepts.
